SATB Words by Lawrence Lee Music by Kathleen Holyoak Now, a little about the composer: Kathleen Holyoak, award-winning composer/arranger, accomplished organist and pianist, resides in Arizona. She is married to dentist Garth Holyoak, and they have 4 married daughters and 6 grandchildren. A teacher for more than 35 years, Kathleen began performing at age 5 when she won a talent contest in Boise, Idaho sponsored by KIDO. Her prize was to record a children's album, "The Peter Rabbit Story", where she sang and accompanied herself on the piano. This was the beginning of many opportunities to perform on radio, TV, and as a soloist with local orchestras. Kathleen is known for her distinctive piano style and beautiful, original melodies. Her willingness to share her talents, help, and encourage others musically has gained her much respect among fellow musicians and colleagues. She has published dozens of vocal solos, choral and instrumental arrangements, two children's CDs, 4 songbooks, and most recently collaborations with Dan Carter for "The BIG, Little Christmas Book". Her music has been performed around the globe, including the White House for Pres. and Mrs. Bush and the private residence of Vice-Pres. and Mrs. Cheney for Christmas gatherings. Kathleen gives firesides, teacher-training workshops, and has traveled abroad to perform & speak which include a two week organ concert tour to England in 1999, Guatemala in 2000, Russia in 2004 and three trips to Ukraine in 2005-06 to raise funds to improve conditions in Ukraine orphanages. |
